What are chemical peels?
Chemical peels use controlled solutions to remove the superficial layers of blemished skin. Light peels address only the outermost imperfections, while deep peels can penetrate at a more profound level for even more dramatic results.
Acids within the chemical peel raise the skin’s pH level to around a 3.8 from a 5.5, which chemically dislodges dead skin cells from their surrounding healthy counterparts. Once the compromised cells are loosened, exfoliation can occur, producing a healthier-looking, more radiant countenance.
